As I was trying to remove the two bolts holding the tps in place I stripped one of the torx head bolts out how do I get it to come out now so I can put new sensor in

try using a little hammer and drive torx bit in and see if it will break loose that way.

LIGHT TAPPING WITH SLIGHT CCW PRESSURE USUALLY WORKS/ THIS PROCESS IS ESCALATED AS THE BOLT SIZE INCREASES ON BIGGER STUFF

YOU MAY HAVE TO "ADD" AN EXTENSION INTO THE MIX IF ITS HARD TO REACH

1976-1986 JEEP CJs WERE ALMOST COMPLETELY HELD TOGETHER WITH TORX FASTENERS. THE DASH/ DIFFERENTIAL COVERS/ ROLL BAR/ HOOD HARDWARE/ SUN VISORS/ THE LIST GOES ON!

HAVING LEARNED MY LESSON(S) FROM 1983-NOW, WHEN I REMOVE 'EM, I SLING 'EM IN THE WOODS AND REPLACED THEM WITH A REAL BOLT...I DON'T THINK THERE'S EVEN A-ONE LEFT ON MY PRESENT '77 CJ-5!

IN MY PICS I WAS UNABLE TO FIND A TORX BOLT FOR A DEMONSTRATOR (THEY'RE ALL IN THE WOODS!), SO I USED AN ALLEN HEAD BOLT

I WOULD NORMALLY BE APPLYING SLIGHT CCW PRESSURE ON THE VISE GRIPS WHILE TAPPING

I HAD TO HOLD THE CAMERA AND HAMMER, I RAN OUT OF HANDS!

Most of the time you have sufficient space so you can simply grab the head of the screw with a small pair of vise grips or channel locks to crack it loose. It will move easily once cracked loose. Just make sure you have a solid grip on the bolt so the vise grips don't slip and make it worse.
