1998 Dodge Dakota Replaced Output Speed Sensor Speedometer Functioning Properly

i replaced the output speed sensor but my speedometer is not functioning properly, it does not move till i hit approx. 40kmh .when i slow down the needle drops back to 0kmh when it hits the 40kmh mark. is there a chance they gave me the wrong sensor

See below-Might want to check the vehicle speed sensor-On left rear of transfer case.
