cruise control stopped working between stops

Drove car to pickup point for my wife. Cruise worked fine. Shut engine off for wait. When started back up, and tried to engage cruise control, no light came on and it would not engage.

Check the fuse that powers the C/C and also the brake switch if its malfunctioning-
