This is solely dependent on driving conditions, basically you do not want the engine to over rev and also you do not want to hold it in gear (low gears) to long, it is a feel thing, it will come with experience, it is not really something that i can tell you, you will have to practice and may be get a drive with someone with plenty of manual experience.
