car died while driving.fuel pump relay starts clicking rapidly when ignition is turned on, starter doesn't turn over.clicking doesn't stop until relay is pulled and then starter will work with relay out. Tried different relay no change. Tried different fuel pump no change

Check you owners manual to be sure that the relay you pulled is indeed the fuel pump relay.
