whats wrong with my car stereo amplifier:? :(

i have an amp in my car for stereo sound that just went out now everything is hooked up right i believe..no broken fuses or blown amps...the only way i can get my amp to work is if i take a spare speaker wire and attach one end to the battery power terminal on the amp and the other end to the remote terminal on the amp...how do i fix my ampp?? ps..when i drive the car and listen to the stereo with it smells weird in the car kinda like burnt combos would smell like idk if thats just out side or something burning in the car thanks let me know

You have a wiring/circuit problem and the abnormal smell could be something inside the amp that is fried. You would need more than just normal diagnostic to get to the bottom of it.
