I have a 98 S10 4x4, 4.3. Sometimes but not often, when I take off from a stop sign it will get up to about 30 mph then it acts like its doesn't have anymore power. After 5-8 seconds of hesitation it's like it caught it's breath an then takes off like it's suppose to. I've done the plugs an wires an distributer cap. The fuel pumps been checked an found to be good.

Hello,

It sound like could be an issue with the throttle position sensor.
If that sensor sends incorrect data to the vehicle control module (VCM), like if its reading that the throttle is at lower level than you actually have input, they the module will change the air/fuel ratio.
It can send less fuel that you will need at that throttle input.
This will make the vehicle bog down until the correct signal gets sent and then it will drive normal.
This could be due to a faulty sensor or even could be triggered by excess dirt/debris build up.
