1998 s-10 2.2 auto 2wd. It started and ran went out to restart the next day and the push rods bent. Installed straight ones ran it and bingo next day they bent again. Checked timing appears to be ok. Checked rockers (roller shaft type) ok. Any smart answers?

The only way that you get bent push rods is having something in the valve train either stuck or blocked. Does it only happen on one cylinder or more than one? Intake and exhaust? I would suggest that either the valve timing is off or you have valves hung up by rust or other damage.

I would also suspect that maybe your camshaft is worn. If it is it can cause them to bend as well.
Always use quality pushrods too.
