Temp gauge goes from cold to hot when only driving one mile I changed the thermostat, temp sensor twice, switched out the cluster gauge and nothing, I purged the air out after the thermostat change I am a lost for words

Make sure it is overheating first. Are the fans coming on? You may have a bad connection or shorted wire likely cause for that. It's a dark grenwire going to sender. What engine?
