I have a 1998 chevy malibu and I can drive the car and sometimes it will stall and shut off then I can start it right back up like nothing is wrong and also I can turn the key off and it wont shut off I was wondering if it could be a sensor or is this gonna end up being a money pit. The car is the 2.4l 4 cylinder

How do you shut it off? Get codes read to see what pops. Does your security system seem to be working ok? Does it come on when you turn key to off?

We usaully have to pop hood and disconnect battery. Security system is fine. When you park your car and turn the key to the off position it sometimes will not shut off. And while driving it has just stalled and stopped.
