chavy malibu fuel problem

hello i have a 1998 chevy malibu and the fuel gauge doesn't work. When the talk is full it will give accurate readings. But after about 1/2 tank i get a reading showing a full tank. what should i do?

So it reads a full tank at a half tank?If so do you have a multimeter to do some testing?
