how long can I go with a failing a/c clutch

My '98 lumina has been diagnosed as having a failing AC clutch. What is the danger of ignoring the noise until AC season? Very loud intermittent noise, but car runs fine

if the clutch is bad and not the front bearing, then yes, you can go to the hot weather.
