I have a problem with my 1998 Corvette not being able to shift out of park. Seems like if I drive it everyday, I don't have a problem but if I let it set for a few days and drive, it takes as much as 10 minutes to shift out of park. Any ideas what could be wrong? Any info would be appreciated.

your shift interlock is acting up. could be brake switch or solenoid in shifter assembly or wiring in between/to. when this happens see if brake lights are working as if not that could definately indicate brake switch fault. or you could have a sticky solenoid especially if anything was spilled down by shifter.

Thanks I'm going to try and unhook the solenoid in the shifter assembly to see if that will take care of the problem.
