Has anyone actually diagnosed this as a bad cv joint? They don't make noise while driving unless they're so severely worn that they're about to fall apart.
If a joint really is bad, it is much less expensive to replace the entire half shaft. The joint and boot usually cost more than an entire rebuilt half shaft. To know for sure, look up the parts on any web site for places like Auto Zone, NAPA, etc. I use the Rock Auto site quite often.
