98 cavalier check engine light keep coming on

So have you replaced any parts to try to correct this code?Also are there any certain driving conditions that set the code off?

I swapped cam sensor out with a used one. Checked out the wires between the PCM and sensor and they all seemed good. What does the "ETC off" have to do with the cam sensor code? Is there something common between them. Is ETC short for electronic traction control? I don't have to put it in gear and drive, it will set. Also the ABS light ocasionally comes on, but ETC and check engine light set at the same time allways.

You are correct on etc what it stands for as far as the abs goes you would have to get those codes soi could help you with that.What size engine do you have?

The engine is 2.2l . I don't care about the chassis problems, mainly tring to get engine light to stay off.

I posted the trouble tree for P0342 and wire diagrams let me know what you find.
