Hi I am doing some work on my 1998 Chevy Camaro. It has the LS1 motor. The pistons are dirty and I want to clean them. Can I use carb and choke cleaner on them. If not what should I get from advance or autozone. Thanks.

Have you already removed the pistons? If so, the dirt is most likely carbon. I usually just use a wire brush to clean them.

No not yet but I am at that point to pull it out. If the wire brush doesn't clean it what can I buy to get it close to clean. I will try the wire brush first. Thanks for the help.
