1998 Chevrolet Blazer electrical wires

The only problem I see is the "yellow wire". From the diagram it looks like the yellow wire should be under the console. I got a used harness out of the bone yard and the yellow wire plugs into the shift interlock solenoid and then comes out with the rest of the wires. So, I see where the two greens go and the pink but that yellow wire has me stumped.

Looks like the yellow wire goes to shift solenoid. Without being able to look at it, I'm not sure what else to tell you? Rewiring can be a pain.

Yes the yellow wire plugs into the BTSI but it is part of the wire harness and goes into a 6 prong plug, then all 6 wires goes up under the dash. That yellow wire has to attach to something? That is my real problem!

Sorry about the late post, I've had a bug the past 24 hours. Did you get the proper wire connectors with the wiring? They plug into the shift switch according to the wiring diagrams. If my wiring diagram is correct, the yellow wire goes from solenoid to floor shift switch. I thought the floor shift switch would be in center console, maybe not. I'll see I can find location for that switch?

If I wasn't so computer stupid I would send you a picture but I don't know how. The harness is about 36 inches long. At one end it splits with two wires coming out of it, which are the gray and black. They plug into the light on the shifter indicator. The rest of the wires go to a square plug. This plug has 6 pins but only 5 are used. The color wires are D green/ white stripe, pink, black, L green w/ black stripe and a yellow. Now this connector plugs into the floor shifter switch under the console. This harness runs forward and comes out from under the console where the heat floor vent is. It has a 6 pin female plug at the end. The male plug snaps in and only has 3 inches of wire before it disappears thru the fire wall into a taped up wire harness. Not enough wire sticking out to splice into. Would like to run new wires to where they are to be hooked up at. This is a OEM wire harness for the truck and it all clips in under the console. This yellow wire I can't figure out.

I didn't think the yellow wire left the center console, according diagram.

I asked one of the other guys to look at the post, maybe they have better info. I do realize how frustrating it can be, over the internet.

I appreciate the time you have given me on this matter, being you are under the weather. Hope you are OK? the picture of part number 15312768. the harness I have is number 2 in the diagram. This plugs into connections on the shifter. Everything is plugged in and goes up to part 6. In part 6 are the six colored wires and I have part 7 with a little wire left on it to splice. But not enough wire left up in the dash to splice to.

Is this the picture your talking about? Your link didn't show the part, so I typed in the part number, web search.

On the site does #s 2-- 3 and 4 relate to 004--002 and so on? 004 does mention the park neutral switch, and I believe that switch has a yellow wire? I'll have to double check. I can't be sure it is the same yellow wire?

Evidently I was wrong about the wire color on neutral switch.

I was asked to see if I could assist here but honestly, I don't know what I can do for you. All of our wiring diagrams are of specific circuits not areas in the vehicle. The diagrams will tell us which components are connected in the circuit but not where they are located in the car. I can pull and read a diagram for any circuit but your problem is that you are likely dealing with multiple different circuits here and nobody knows which ones they are.

If a car like this came into our shop we would either simply turn it away or give an estimate to replace the entire harness that was damaged, complete to wherever it separates. We wouldn't attempt to try to piece it back together. This is a hard job for a good tech to do if he was actually at the car but to try to untangle this online seems impossible.

OK. 002-004 are just different harnesses. In that picture I have number 2 but not the part that has number 4, That is for the traction control switch which this truck does not have. I've got number 2 [ wire harness ] and number 3 [ which is a square plug that operates the park lock, BTSI solenoid and the floor shifter switch [. Number 5 is the gray and black wire for the indicator light. Number 6 is the 6 pin female plug that has a yellow wire in it. I also have number 7 but the wires go into number 1 thru the fire wall. All I want to do is make a harness from plug number 7 and wire it in to where it connects to. By your diagram I have figured how to hook up the other 4 wires. Sorry for causing so much problems on this matter!

It's possible the yellow wire goes to ignition switch? I hate to keep listing possibilities, but, check it out if you haven't found it already.

Your post just stuck in my mind. I hate to give up.

From the ignition switch it goes to crank fuse, from crank fuse, one circuit goes to neutral switch/tranny range sensor.

If I finally got it correct, sorry it took so long.
