key stuck in the ignation

I have just changed the battery in my 1998 cad sevelle and the key is stuck in the ignation

the key isnt turning off all the way.make sure its in park or the shift cable wont let you remove the key.gl

also the gear on the key cyl. could have came off.they always did that.gl
