idle on my 98 Deville increased dramatically, won't return to normal. Temp dropped in our area prior to this problem. Advise

Is there a check engine light on? Unless there is a significant vacuum leak, you could have a faulty idle air control valve, a chunk of carbon in the IAC passage, throttle plate stuck, or a faulty cruise or throttle cable.
