I have a problem with the catalyst and the egr valve, not being ready when you hook up a code reader. We recently fixed a evap control system leak and cleared the codes.. It has been two weeks and approx 200 miles since then and the code reader still says the catalyst and egr valve are still not ready. Is there a certain milage or time limit on these two things. We need to get this fixed because in Illinois you cannot get your plates renewed if it will not pass the test at the IL air stations. The car has not shown any other codes since being fixed. And we recently took it on a long drive approx 85 miles and still ready

I will be looking for your answer, hopefully with something good,

a drive cycle is a very specific way of driving a car to run the monitors. it is not just driving the car, it is a lot more. thats why shops charge you for it. i would let a shop set these minitors for you and move forward/
