1998 Buick Riviera Just Put Junk Yard Motor Out 2000 Runs Fine Couple Seconds

Just put a junk yard motor out of a 2000 in and it runs fine for a couple seconds and shuts down starts right back up shuts right back down. No codes no security light any ideas

Usually when you swap motors, you get the computer from the donor vehicle and use that computer. I don't know if the 98 and 00 use the same computer. Can you communicate with your computer?
