In regards to replacing the combination valve

Thanks to all - I am not sure why my mechanic doesn't want to perform this repair. The mechanic said to keep adding brake fluid to the car and also that I don;t want to replace that metal combination valve. Maybe it is in a difficult place to get to.

Are you referring to the proportioning valve? Yes these can be difficult to replace, but should be done.
