poor engine

sooty deposit spray from exhaust, no water though, exhaust is dry, no loss of coolant, no loss of oil,poor /rough idling, compression down on no 2, plug 1, sooty, 2 and 3 oily 4'clean' smell of unburn fuel or a very 'sweet smell' /chemical smell from exhaust,(not excessive smoke/vapour whilst running, coolant drained and replaced, put put put type noise from exhaust, little bit of 'blowback' popping noise from front of exhaust (sounds like an old tug boat chuffin along) poor accleration/delayed pickup
think thats all..

any clues or am i up poo creak without a paddle? lol

Do a dry then wet comprtession test and post results. But suspect car has bought the farm
