my 97Tercel

I have a great car, that's in great condition and it's a 13yr old Toyota Tercel with only 111,400km's on it.
I just put it over 100,000km's this year and put a new time'n belt on as well, the airfilter was aslo replaced.
NOW the engine light has come on and it's never done that befor
??? I just what to know what the possiblities are when the Engine Light comes on?????
The manual just says go see Toyota
I should mention that when the temp. droped a couple of weeks ago I started the car and it was shaking, every time i tried to move it, it shook even worse, but then went away after veh. was on for abit, and yesterday when i was driving it, the veh started shaking again for a few sec's then stoped but no engine light came on.

The light can come on for many reasons. What you need to do is have the computer scanned to determine what set it. THere will be a trouble code that will identify why it is on. Many parts stores will scan it for free. Have that done and you will know where the problem is coming from.
