Actually this is more of a question than a problem. My question is. On the AC compressor. Is it a switched power type or is it a power to ground type. The reason I'm asking is I am installing a fan speed controller and it requires a power to ground type power input. As a switched power type will fry my controller.
Thanks for any help at all. Also I hope yall had a good Xmas and new year.

I can probably answer this question, but the terminology has me a bit confused. I think you're asking if the switching is done on the 12 volt feed side or the ground side. When a relay is involved, as is typical with a high-current clutch coil for the compressor, it is almost always done on the power side, and the clutch coil is always grounded near the compressor.
