Does it mean the vehicle is a 4wd? 'Cause it says when on a slippery surface,snowy day or muddy surface use it. How best is it used on a vehicle?

i believe that this only holds back the shift selection so you get better traction in loose and slippery conditions, it will not select 4x4.
