do adding headers help performance

The car is a Toyota Corolla II and the engine is a 1.5l Turbo Diesel 1N-T Is it possible to install exhaust headers on my car and would the performance increase? Are there other things I can do to improve performance? Thanks.

You can increase HP by using headers, don't expect to much-change the camshaft and the air induction system, etc-
