When turning right there is a grinding noise is it the brake pads?

Checked the boots they are fine, noise only happens when driving and only on the right, its a metallic grinding noise.

Check the wheel bearings and try driving with a little bit of turning towards the right if it does it then it still may be a cvjoint. Also check your brake rotor for a lot of rust, sometimes tht does it as well.

NO noise with a little bit of turning to the right so CV looks unlikely. The rotor was treated with WD40 about 3 weeks back and appears clean. Steering still feels the same light and responsive.

Best way is by experience but take teh rotor off and spin wheel hub slowly if you feel rough spots it's probably bad, by the way if this on ly happens when you turn right then check the left wheel bearing as it spins faster on a right turn.
