my 97 Toyota 4runner has a lifter tapping , a wobbly gear shift, seems to accelerate to fast when put in gear, and also the brakes are hard to push and does not seem to want to stop... what can I do to repair myself?

check for vacuum leak for the first 2 issues. the trans shifter is internal in the shift rail
