car won't start, all your hear when ignition turned is clicking sound

97 subaru impreza wrx: I just bought my car about 2 weeks ago and its been sitting at mates place for about a year. Had to jump start it and got it home but when i tried to start it again, it fails. I just charged my battery and when I turn the ignition all you hear is a clicking sound. All the accessories work fine.

The starter may be stuck with a faulty solinoid, get this checked first.

Confirm the battery is in good condition. If it is bad, charging it is not going to work.
