I have a 1997 Subaru Legacy GT. The brake rotors are 11 7/8 in. can I use the smaller rotors which are 11 1/4 in. These are front rotors. The pads on now do not cover the whole surface of the rotor and they are very rusted on the outer dia.?

You can use a smaller rotor, The front rotors and disc are bigger in the front than in the back. check the rear rotors to make sure they are correct and not bigger than the front. since most stopping power is put on the front brakes.
