I just changed transmissions because the old one wouldnt shift out of first now when I put my car in drive it wont go it will go in reverse only what could it be

So you put in a used transmission? If so what year and model car did you get it out of?Also if you give it gas in drive will it start to move?

It was the same year only two doors same engine no I give it gas and it just revs
