l had the belt and tensioner replaced about 6 months ago . when i put the car in gear it makes a rattle , i was told the tensioner pully needs replaced,i was also told the belt looked new but not the tensioner. when i took the car back to firestone i was told the part could of wore out does that sound right

It may have gone bad, but that isn't normal.
