1997 Saturn Sl1 Changed Water Pump Recently Now Car Runs Hot Think Mabey Drive

I changed my water pump recently and now my car runs hot.
I think mabey the drive belt has started to slip but mabey the
thermostat was damaged when I drained the coolant.
The belt I think is more likely.Am I missig something?

If the belt isnt squealing your belt isnt slipping.Also i cant see how you damaged your thermostat by draining te coolnat unless you did it wrong?
