Linkage keeps slipping I would take it from park and the cable is moving the oppisite direction

Are you able to shift from park to reverse to drive?

The cable is tied down at several points. At the shifter (inside the car) under the vehicle and at the transaxle (transmission). One of these tie downs has either come loose or broken.
