Best repair for one blown spark plug that striped the threads in the head (in front position)? Does the head need to come off in this repair to avoid metal shavings from dropping into the cylinder? Is the "kit" with the proper plug thread pitch enough for the DYI, or does it merit a professional tech repair?

The best repair is to install a timesert which is a steel insert you blow the metal out.But for a diyer i would let a shop do it.
