Regarding the 97 SAAB 900 convertible, the remote FOB was lost sometime ago. I have been using a non-remote key made by the dealer to get in and lock the car. What do you advise.

the key is turning in the lock. However, the door won't open. No, this is the first time it happened.

Possibly the link rod that connects the key lock to the actual lock assabmly has come off, if this is the only key and it will not open any door, (pas door) you will have to have the car opened by a trained tech that has the correct (break in) tools, so that the trim can be removed and the problem identified.
