I have a 1997 porsche boxter. I went to start it up today and its battery is dead. I am unable to get the front trunk open. I dont think that it has to do with the battery.

This is a cable release system? have someone apply some down pressure on the lid while you pull the lever, sometimes this will trip the lock if it is an adjustment problem, you do not need a lot of force, try this, if no good i will be looking on line to see if there is anything that can help.

If the battery went dead when the car is locked the lever that opens the trunk is in a locked position.Theres an emergency cable located under the right frt fender well towards the frt and hard to see.You may see it also thru the bottom of the front bumper.
