How would we know what is leaking on your car? It needs to be inspected to determine that. I see no reason to disbelieve someone that has already looked at it and determined it to be leaking coolant. Coolant has a distinctive sweet smell that should be recognizable. It could just as easily be oil leaking on to the exhaust also.

My point is...I know cars and it is an EXAUST/gas smell...NOT an antifreeze smell... what would cause the air conditioner to smell like exaust even on recirculate??? There is no leak in the exaust past the oil pan...and no smoke visible....yet there is the smell....???????Very strong at times....

If you still get it on recirculate, then it's not likely coming in through the A/C as it isn't pulling outside air at the time.
