Why Can't I remove the key when I turn the engine off It gets stuck in the ignition

The motor is off but the lights on the dash board are still on and you can't turn the key to get them off or get the key out. The car starts and runs fine just can't get the key out

Try lubericating the tumbler. They make a special grease for them that you can get at any parts store.

When I had this problem, some of the pins in the lock cylinder broke. I had to get a locksmith to complete a repair.
