1997 Pontiac Sunfire motor

I need to know if you have to change the heads if you put a motor from a 2000 model sunfire into a 1997 sunfire

For the 2.2L 1999-2002 is the same engine for that model.the heads are the same 1995-2002 so the heads are the same.Whats different really couldnt tell you. As far as the complete engine i see 1996-1997 is the same.
