My passenger side electric window on my 1997 Olds Silhouette is stuck about half-way down. The driver's side works (although with an "assist" to get it all the way back up). I don't hear the motor running, it doesn't "try" to work, it's just dead. I am NOT mechanically inclined, and I am dead broke. Is this something I can fix myself?

The most common cause is a broken wire between the driver's door hinges but there is likely a Body Computer involved with the power windows too. If the window works intermittently when you open and close the driver's door, then for sure it's a broken wire.

For the sluggish driver's window, spray the front and rear rubber channels liberally with Silicone Spray Lube. It goes on like water, evaporates, and leaves a bunch of "slippery" behind.
