The security light may lead to a no start for you. It indicates the factory secruity system is recognizing a problem. It can shut the engine down so it doesn't start at all. If that happens and you are away from home, turn the key to the run position and allow it to sit for 10+ minutes. The light will eventually go off and the vehicle will start.
Now, if it isn't starting only when the light is on, you need to take it to a dealer to have it checked. They are the only ones that have the proper test equipment. When it happens, try a different key. If that doesn't help, you need to have it checked. Also, if there is a check engine light coming on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free.
