Sounds more like internal problem take it to a transmission shop and have them further diagnose it-

Check the fluid level first. It should be full of fluid and the luid should be RED and not smell burned.
If the service engine light is on, have the transmission shop to read the codes. Write them down and post them here for further assistance.
