fuel pump fuse

I have a 1997 oldsmobile acheiva sl 2.4L and am going to change my fuel filter but was told to first unplug my fuel pump relay or fuse but I can't find it could you help me find the fuse or relay? Where its located? Do I need to disconect it in order to change my fuel filter? Thanks.

If you are just changing the fuel filter you do not need to disable the fuel pump [by pulling fuse or relay]. Just ensure that the ignition switch [where you put key into] is in the off position.

They were just instructing you on how to burn off the residual pressure in the system before removing the filter. Just be very careful when you disconnect it that it doesn't spray in your eyes. Release the lines slowly.
