I have a grinding noise coming from my power steering area. PS fluid is full, belts are new and the pullys dont feel loose. I had also noticed metal shavings flying up in the air from that area. what could it be?

Check the crank pulley, alternator and A/C compressor. Metal shavings indicates something is failing and most likely it is external and could be a bad idler pulley bearing.

Remove the serpentine belt and manually turn each component to tast for coarseness or binding movements.
