Engine wants to stall

i have 1997 Mitsubishi lancer gli coup every time i stop at a set of lights it feels like its ganna cut out i have to keep my foot on the break and slightly on the accelerator so it wont die

it like hops and idles kinda roughly and feels like its gonna conk out.

Do you have a check engine light and when was last tune up?

Clean the idle air control and EGR valves and see what happens
