Recently the check engine light came on & when I brought it to my regular mechanic he stated the idle speed was unstable & found a vacuum leak at fuel pressure control. He fixed both issues & also suggested that the ECU (MD 233287) is malfunctioning & will need to be replaced soon. He found a new one available on the East Coast for $800. I plan on keeping this car but do I really need to replace the computer rt now? The car is still not running perfectly (idle still revs up from time to time) so I am planning to replace ECU unless you suggest otherwise. Finally my mechanic stated that these ECU's are very hard to find & since he found one I should buy it immediately. Please help.

Regards,

Miki
