97 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0L Turbo. Daughter bought car from friend without checking it first. When she arrived home (barely made the trip) she told me her problem and I found only 2 of 4 cyclinders firing. Changed Coil pack, plugs, wires and eventually the ECM (not cheap). No change. Tried switching the fuel injector connectors and found that the 2 cyclinders that weren't firing, now worked but the 2 that did work now failed. Problem is not Fuel Injectors. I thought of replacing the Ignition control module but someone sugested it may be the crank sensor. This is becoming very expensive. Can you suggest how to troubleshoot / narrow down cause of problem or, more directly, what exactly is causing the problem?

Switching those injector connectors told you something. Use a noid light to test for injector pulse and if none found, test for constant power supply to the injector.

I checked timing today, all marks line up where they should be. I will test the injectors during this coming weekend to see if getting pulse. Was wondering if the crankshaft control sensor or camshaft control sensor would be causing this problem. Again I will take time this weekend to check further per your suggestion. Thank you for your reply

You already found your problem. Now you just have to isolate the cause.
