I have a Mits Diamante 97 and when u turn the **** to cooler temp it doesnt get any cooler. The heat and fan works great but air doesnt>. What do I need to check first?

Are you trying to get the AC to work or just cooler air from the heater?

Im trying to get the air to come on but it doesnt. Heat and fan works great but no cold air

If the compressor isn't engaging, check freon level first. If that is good, check to make sure the compressor is getting power.

Last Dec it started missing and went to Autozone and codes showed cylinder 2 misfire.I changed the plugs and wires and now 3 months later misfire on same but plugs and wire are good, rechanged again and didnt fix problem. Gonna swap injector around to see if thats the problem. Im not mechanically inclined but I do what I can. Gonna also look at distubutor and rotor.

If there is no change when you switch the injector, make sure it is getting power. Also, if you didn't replace the cap and rotor, do that. There could be a hairline crack in the cap causing a problem. Also, make sure the rotor and cap isn't corroded.

Let me know what you find. One last thing. If everything checks out good, you should check the compression in that cylinder to make sure it isn't low.

I changed injectors and ran great for about 15 minutes and then ran rough again.I took a plug wire off cylinder 2 and it got poor spark and then it quit with no spark and now it wont start either. It turns over great but sound is a little different. Guess its time to have it towed to a shop. Ugh

Also before it quit. When idling or riving it up in park or nuetral it sounded great but as soon ans u put it in drive or reverse is when it started missing and started to get worse b4 it quit. Thanks

It sounds like you havee a bad coil or crank sensor. If the spark got weak then you lost it, those are where I would start. As far as the injector, when it was running and then started missing again, did it set a new code for a different cylinder or the same one again?

Ok it was the distrubutor cap and rotor that went out but now seems to be missing in park and when I just start goin but then smooths out. Was before just missing when drive and reverse but now oposite then before. Ugh

It sounds like you have the same type of luck as I do. Since the miss is only at idle and just starting, check to make sure there are no vacuum leaks. Also, pay attention to the exhaust. Is there any black smoke coming from it?
